Up-regulation of inflammatory cytokines Il-16 (A), Il-1β (B), Cxcr2 (C), Cxcl1 (D), and Cxcl2 (E) is significantly mitigated after myocardial infarction (MI) in Rad−/− compared with wild-type (WT) mice. Similarly, a trend toward reduction in Tnfα (F) is also observed but does not reach significance. (G) Thrombospondin-4 is significantly up-regulated in Rad−/− mice prior to MI, but levels are uniformly high in both Rad−/− and WT mice after left anterior descending coronary artery ligation (H).
